Jennifer Lopez is likely to be a new judge on "American Idol," however let's not overlook she's also a pop star. For her new membership banger, "On the Ground," J.Lo teamed up with Pitbull and crimson-hot producer RedOne. The producer tells MTV Information that for his work with the singer, he thought big. Let's face it: With J.Lo, you must go huge or go home.

 

"I love J.Lo. I've all the time been a giant fan. She's a true star. They requested me to work with her and I used to be like, 'Completely,' " he explained. "She's one of those that I've at all times admired. What she's performed with the music and film and the whole lot, she's a true artist - a 360 artist.

"It was natural for me to get into the studio together with her," he continued. "I am enthusiastic about J.Lo's 'On the Floor.'... It's getting the most incredible reaction. I'm pleased for her."

RedOne knew that if he was going to make a smash for the star, there could be a number of components involved: dance, events and her Latina heritage. He hoped to capture it all on the club-prepared monitor, which samples Kaoma's worldwide hit "Lambada," and undoubtedly has a Latin flare.

"She's a dancer. She will sing. I used to be really amazed, and I had so much enjoyable working along with her," he gushed. "Her power and the whole lot about her is a star, and it was pure for me to do what we did.

"Of course, she's global: She's a global artist," he continued. "She's a global actress, and the music has to be international, and the rhythmic aspect of it or the Latin and this thing of a dancer [all needs to be there].

"She mentioned, 'I need to dance. I want to make folks dance and be able to sing with me.' That is what we did, and it feels good. I feel we'll have a giant one."
