According to Us Weekly, an insider says that Jennifer Lopez and her ex hubby, Marc Anthony, spent the night together on November 8, while they were filming the talent competition “Q'Viva! The Chosen”, in Puerto Rico. The source told the magazine that Anthony has not spent the night in his room.
Steven Tyler isn’t the only “American Idol” judge trying to make the most of a double dose of weekly prime-time exposure on TV’s biggest reality show. While Aerosmith’s back catalog has gotten a boost thanks to its prominent placement on “Idol,” fellow judge Jennifer Lopez has parlayed her spot on the program into the highest-charting single of her career with “On the Floor.”
And over the weekend, she revealed that she’s got a strong follow-up single ready to go. Speaking with fans during an online chat on Saturday, Lopez revealed that she’s finished a song called “I’m Into You” with Lil Wayne that will be the next single from her still unscheduled Love? album.
Many people thought Simon Cowell’s departure from “American Idol” would spell the end for TV’s No. 1 show. I wasn’t one of them.
Some said Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez wouldn’t be able to revive the show’s popularity. Again, I wasn’t among them.
Some went so far as to say ‘American Idol” was old news. Whatever!
I was one of the nearly 27 million viewers who tuned in last Thursday night to see the top 13 finalists named for Season 10. Oh, and “Idol” crushed its network competition, too. Nielson ratings showed the show posted a 29 percent increase in viewership over last season’s similar broadcast. Simon who?
Cowell may have made “American Idol” what it is, but he’s not the only one who could do the job. I applaud Tyler and Lopez for bringing a new interest in the show and for proving that “Idol’s” days are not over. They could also be credited for giving some legitimacy to Randy Jackson. I think he’s finally toeing the mark as a judge.
I have enjoyed watching Tyler and Lopez bring their own thoughts to the contestants and finally get a group of finalists who well represent America. Season 10’s diverse group of finalists are perhaps the finest the show has had.
Jimmy Iovine, chairman at Interscope Geffen A&M Records, said he wanted to make “Idol” different and perhaps get 10 winners. He may have gotten his wish, considering how awesome the finalists are this time.
The top 13 include (in the order they were named by Ryan Seacrest) Scott McCreery, Pia Toscana, Lauren Alaina, Karen Rodriguez, Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, Thia Megia, Paul McDonald, Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, Ashton Jones, Stefano Langone and Naima Adedapo.
The top 10 were all named by America’s vote, but it was made known that Tyler, Lopez and Jackson were going to make a few additions, allowing a wild card to be added. In this case, three were added of which Jones, Langone and Adedapo joined the coveted finalists. Not too shabby considering more than 125,000 people auditioned for those very spots.
I believe any of these finalists could be named the next “American Idol.” I’d be satisfied with almost any of them, but I still have my favorites. It wouldn’t be “AI” if you didn’t.
If I were to guess right the top three, I would have to say Pia Toscano, Lauren Alaina and James Durbin. Toscano’s performance of “I’ll Stand By You” blew me away

Island Def Jam withheld the song from a digital release for a month following its radio launch (it rises 40-38 on Pop Songs), synching it with the premiere of its video on tonight's "Idol" episode.

Oak Forest's Chris Medina captured the hearts of "American Idol" judges and fans when he auditioned for the show last month, which made it extra difficult for "Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez to tell him he was cut on Wednesday night's episode.
Medina, a 27-year-old barista who has played in Chicago-area bands for more than a decade, became an "Idol" sensation early on. Medina's fiancé Juliana Ramos was in a serious car accident in 2009, just weeks before the couple's wedding. She was left with brain damage, and the wedding has yet to occur.
Medina, who has been caring for Ramos since the accident, sang The Script's "Breakeven" during his audition, and became an instant sensation. Not only were fans hoping for Medina's success on "Idol," but hoping for Ramos' full recovery.
Friends, family members and fans of Medina have been gathering weekly at Bourbon Street, a bar just south of Chicago, every week to cheer him on.
"It's been very surreal and almost resolving in a way," Medina's friend Mary LiFonti told HuffPost Chicago. "Not that any of this fixes the tragedy that has taken place, but after seeing him for more then a year going through everything that he has, it's great to see some positive energy in his life, Juli's life, and her family's lives."
Unfortunately, Medina's time on "Idol" was cut short. During a pre-recorded episode that aired Wednesday night, the judges said goodbye to the local hero--and Lopez had an on-air breakdown. (Scroll down for video)
"I just couldn't believe I had to deliver this news to this person who had been through a lot--and is going through a lot...I felt like I didn't it do it well enough to send him into where he needed to go in his life and be OK," Lopez told E! Online. "And I didn't want to be a part of that moment in his life."
